All trainings are organised in a spirit of intercultural learning and mutual understanding and are prepared by multicultural teams comprising expert trainers from EFIL and its Member Organisations. Intrinsic to all training events is the motivation they offer by adding an intercultural touch to the daily volunteer / staff work: the opportunity to share local and national practices, good examples and frustrations with peers is a highly appreciated bonus.
The EFIL Training and Sharing activities are developed in conjunction with the EFIL Member Organisations. A Training Advisory Body supports the conceptualisation and developments of the trainings, coordinated by the EFIL Secretariat.
Our training programme addresses a variety of topics and audiences:
Seminars / training courses for AFS Volunteers and staff
Training for Trainers for AFS Volunteers and Staff Members
Travelling Trainers scheme
It is the quality presence of Member Organisations in the implementation of activities and programmes, their contribution of resources, trainers, ideas and practices that is and remains the hallmark of EFIL. AFS has developed a unique know-how in organising and supporting the development of young people and the intercultural learning of all those that participate in our exchange programmes. The inter-dependent nature of our activities makes the sharing of practices and know-how one of the most important investments that our organisations can make to address quality and continuity in all aspects of our work.
